When President Obama insists that he will not negotiate with the House on out-of-control government spending, Obamacare, and the debt ceiling, what he’s really saying is he will not negotiate with the American people.
After all, the House is the voice of We the People. As Speaker John Boehner said Friday, “The American people don’t want a government shutdown, and they don’t want Obamacare.”
Apparently negotiations and letter-writing with Hassan Rouhani, Iran’s new president, are more deserving of Obama’s attention these days than America’s future financial stability.
How does that make you feel? Is Obama’s foreign policy strategy enhancing America’s position in the world?
