salvageableOn Facebook group Conservatarian Arkansas, Mark Martin, our conservative Republican Secretary of State, recently pointed out the GOP’s 2012 Resolution on Common Core Standards, which says:

… the 2012 Republican Party Platform specifically states the need to repeal the numerous federal regulations which interfere with State and local control of public schools, (Renewing American Values to Build Healthy Families, Great Schools and Safe Neighborhoods, p. 36); and therefore, the Republican National Committee rejects this CCSS plan which creates and fits the country with a nationwide straitjacket on academic freedom and achievement.”

We had no idea the GOP took this stand against Common Core back in 2012 (which is a surprise to us), but what’s enlightening is this conversation it sparked between Martin and Greg Johnson about whether the GOP is salvageable:
