Then you should thank them for taking down Russia and Vladimir Putin.  Oh yeah, thank them for your low gas prices while you’re at it.

Oil prices have dropped from $107 to $53 per barrel in an extremely short period of time, lowering gasoline prices dramatically and ripping the economies of oil-dependent counties like Russia, Iran, China, and Venezuela.

Analysis say that each time the oil price per barrel drops by $1, gasoline prices drop 2 cents.

This morning, Russia — already struggling financially with a depression as well as a recession — saw its ruble hit a new low of 35 to the American dollar.  This occurred overnight after the ruble had already dropped dramatically yesterday due to the drop in worldwide oil prices.

The ruble was trading at 79 to the dollar only a few months ago, so this development overnight is a clear signal of financial collapse for Russia and Vladimir Putin, putting America in a much stronger economic position worldwide.

Stuart Varney of Fox Business observed

“I’d go so far as to say Vladimir Putin is on the hook because of the activity of American frackers, who bumped up the production of oil in South Dakota and Texas and elsewhere.  They put out all this oil, prices declined sharply, and Putin is taking the heat.”

As you know, despite continuing objections from environmentalists, our great state of Arkansas went for fracking in a big way over the last few years as part of America’s push to be energy independent.

So, go thank your neighbor who works in the fracking industry for giving America a strong economic edge over Russia and Vladimir Putin.

‘Happy fill-ups!
