March for Marriage Set in Russellville
ARV TEA Party sponsors a “March for Marriage” on Saturday, April 25 in downtown Russellville. Starting at 3 pm the group will march from the Train Depot to the Pope County Courthouse “in support of tradition marriage: 1 Man + 1 Woman.” Diane Owens from CAAP is the featured speaker once the Russellville group arrives at the Pope County Courthouse.
Led by Reverend William Owens, the Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP) is the host of the annual March for Marriage each summer in Washington, D.C. and has a mission to “support the role of religion in American public life, protect the unborn, and defend marriage.”
Their video below describes the “attack on the black family via the destruction of the traditional family.” CAAP’s website says
When we talk about the effects of same-sex marriage, we always come back to our two highest values — faith and family… It seems so obvious that the destruction of traditional marriage is yet another blow to the black family, with untold harm for our children.
