UPDATE:
Hutchinson joins other governors who are standing against resettling Syrian refugees in their states: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Even though Governor Hutchinson tweeted his opposition at 9:45 am, we got this message from a caller to his office around noon today: “Just got off the phone with Asa Hutchinson’s office. He wants to hear from Arkansans regarding planned resettlement of Syrian refugees in the Little Rock & Fort Smith cities.

Hutchinson’s statement this morning came after Arkansas talk radio show hosts Dave Elswick (The Answer 96.5) and Doc Washburn (News Radio 102.9) both discussed the Syrian refugee crisis on air last week, and we wrote about Mayor Stodola’s promotion of CUIA on Saturday. Of course, the horrendous attacks on Paris last Friday brought even greater urgency to the idea of welcoming huge numbers of undocumented, unverified Syrian refugees into our country.
