Mayor Stodola: Little Rock a Sanctuary City?
Even though he says it’s “bad information,” Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola is one of 80+ mayors in nearly 100 American cities who make up the Democrat lobby group Cities United for Immigration Action (CUIA). CUIA supports the Obama Administration’s illegal immigration policies and is pushing for even more refugees in the United States.
Stodola’s advocacy comes in direct opposition to the will of grassroots Arkansans and is even more alarming against the backdrop of last night’s Paris attacks already linked to ISIS / military action in Syria.
Even though Little Rock’s website cites Mayor Stodola’s numerous achievements and positions (e.g., in the U.S. Conference of Mayors, he is Vice-Chair of the Task Force on Immigration Reform), Little Rock’s link to the CUIA is not listed there, nor could we locate any public statements or press releases from his office about CUIA and Little Rock’s involvement.
Eighteen CUIA mayors told Obama in September: (online link to this CUIA info has since been deleted)
“as the mayors of cities across the country, we see first-hand the myriad ways in which immigrants and refugees make our communities stronger economically, socially and culturally.
We will welcome the Syrian families to make homes and new lives in our cities.
Indeed, we are writing to say that we stand ready to work with your Administration to do much more and to urge you to increase still further the number of Syrian refugees the United States will accept for resettlement.”
Now that Mayor Stodola has brought in Little Rock as a member of CUIA, it’s difficult to see how Little Rock will not soon be a sanctuary city.
